About Simurgh
Simurgh is a benevolent creature from Persian mythology, holding the power to heal and revive the land in which it resides. Over the many milleniums, it acquired immense knowledge beyond the understanding of any mortal being. Taking inspiration, we are working to improve the world around us.

Simurgh is a non-profit organization dedicated to initiating and facilitating Multi-Sector Partnerships to address urban issues in American cities, with a focus on the Rust Belt region. Our cities' most critical issues are too complex to be solved by a single sector, whether it is the government, the businesses, or the civil society. Thus, we are working in cities across America to engage local stakeholders to work together to build a better future for their communities.

Our Cities
Where we work, where we live
More than 8 out of 10 Americans live in cities. This is where we live, work, shop, and rest. Cities are complex organisms. Every municipality is different and so both the methods and the solutions have to be custom-made. That's why our team on the ground is made up of people from the local community, serving the places they call home. At the moment, these are the places where we work:
How we work

1
Identify
Our team on the ground leverages information from local community contacts, media outlets, and academics to scan for the most suitable issues and solutions to be addressed by the MSP.
2
Initiate
SIMURGH engages in partnership development by engaging the most relevant and impactful stakeholders in the area. It sets up the partnership and performs outreach to ensure the participation of all critical parties.
3
Facilitate
Our facilitators are present on the ground to support the delivery of the services by the partnership which alleviate the urban issue they are dedicated to. SIMURGH works as the moderator until the partnership is ready to move on.

What Are MSP'S?
Multi-Sector Partnerships (“MSPs”) transform and reinforce relationships between the public, private, and civil society sectors, aligning their resources and interests behind a shared goal - addressing a critical urban issue. MSPs attempt to address ‘wicked problems’, denoting multi-layered issues that cannot be resolved with action by a single stakeholder. Such cooperation can improve outcomes in addressing underlying causes, treating conditions, and ameliorating pressing problems within particular communities, towns, and cities.
